Symptoms of Appendicitis
Appendicitis can develop quickly and requires urgent medical attention. The most common symptoms include:
Sudden severe pain that begins around the navel and moves to the lower right abdomen
Pain that worsens with movement, coughing, or pressing the abdomen
Nausea and vomiting
Loss of appetite
Fever that may rise if the appendix bursts
Bloating, diarrhoea, or constipation in some cases
Procedure of Laparoscopic Appendix Surgery
At Himas Hospital we perform advanced laparoscopic appendix surgery using small incisions and modern surgical equipment.
Step 1: The patient is given general anaesthesia and prepared for surgery.
Step 2: The surgeon makes three small incisions in the abdomen.
Step 3: Carbon dioxide gas is used to gently inflate the abdomen.
Step 4: A tiny camera (laparoscope) provides a clear magnified view.
Step 5: The inflamed appendix is carefully removed.
Step 6: The patient usually goes home within 24 hours.
Benefits of Laparoscopic Appendix Surgery
Less trauma to the abdomen with only tiny incisions
Minimal blood loss during surgery
Smaller scars and faster healing
Lower risk of infection
Short hospital stay (usually within 24 hours)
Faster recovery and return to daily activities
